Upon completion and throughout this course, you will:
- Develop a deeper understanding of how essential elements of MTSS apply in PPSD schools.
- Develop a plan with actionable items that will lead to pilot implementation and/or scale up activities in support of developing the essential elements of MTSS, such as:
- Implementing effective team functioning (roles, protocols)
- Defining the steps of the Data Based Individualization (DBI) process and explain its relationship to intensive intervention
- Implement DBI on a student case study with fidelity in Plan-Do-Act-Study cycle addressing implementation obstacles as a team to continually improvement implementation fidelity
- Engage in collaborative problem-solving to address barriers to implementation.

Deering Middle School Team - Behavior/Social-Emotional Learning
This course supports a Tier 1 MTSS leadership team working to improve outcomes for all students through the implementation of an effective and efficient behavior and social-emotional learning core that is grounded in Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) as well as Restorative Practices (RP).
A combination of live synchronous and self-paced asynchronous activities across one year will be used to develop team and staff capacity with data use, systems and practices.
Enrollment is restricted to identified teams.
*Recommended PLUs will be awarded at intervals across the year upon completion of defined training objectives.
